About:

The American Artists Council strives to foster a global community of artists in the United States, and that often begins with the many wonderful U.S. colleges and universities that serve musicians and, in particular, international musicians.

Unfortunately, post-secondary institutions with distinguished music programs that are of particular benefit to foreign music students tend to be overlooked and under-acknowledged in the academic and music communities alike.

The aim of these annual awards is to recognize the leaders in the field of post-secondary institutions that attract foreign musicians. The American Artists Council wishes to honor the institutions that have helped us to further our own mission by providing more excellent reasons for foreign artists to be attracted to the United States.

Categories:

In addition to the best overall top 50 ranking, this annual award will also be comprised of several subcategory awards, including:

  • Awards for most financial aid for foreign students
  • Awards for most commercially successful musician graduates
  • “Best-kept secret” Awards
  • Awards for specific musical genres
  • …and more.

Notifications:

Nominees will be notified no later than April 13, 2016, after which point nominations will no longer be accepted. Award winners will be notified and the official announcement of winners will be made on April 19th, 2016.

Best of luck to all of the candidates!
